And this is a Technical Preview - One does not install a Tech Preview without excepting some issues :) The only problem I have, which mostly everyone with Optimus have atm, is that W10 is having problems with the swapping of GFX cards.ĮDIT - THats not W10's fault.

I backed up my eSupport drivers folder and installed all missing drivers via that folder. Im using classic Shell :)Īll drivers worked for me. It's odd that Nvidia didn't come out with a W10 driver for the preview release, I think they did for Vista, Win7, Win8.

Did Wifi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Realtek sound, etc work ok with W10? There may be many more drivers that aren't functional with W10 than the Nvidia driver. I liked it better when the tiles were banished to their own page, which I could ignore :)Īnyway, it is nice and pretty, and I could live with it. I have already seen some start menus with so many tiles that when it pops up it covers the screen - I wonder if I can add so many it scrolls off screen - I wonder how W10 solves that problem. So far, I'm not at all impressed with the ever increasing list of shinny flashy tiles added to the start menu - it doesn't add anything functional as far as I can tell over a simple pop up list - and I can fit a lot more items in a simple text or much smaller icon list. Kaltoreth, do you use ClassicShell or some other Windows "Start" menu add-on with Windows 8.x? It helps :) Its a great OS, and everytime i minimize and go down to my live system, i miss the Desktops, I miss the Start button, i miss the small graphical thingies etc :)Īsap when Nvidia releases a new driver, I will go back to W10 on my ASUS as main OS :) I refreshed it an hour after installation, and atm running it on Virtualbox in fullscreen mode

Yeah, im running the W10 on virtual box aswell :) And as you can see on the picture i added, i did run it on Virtual plattform for a day or two before formating my computer and installing it.īut I wanted to test it out "live" on my comp. I did a Windows Update within the VM, and installed 2 updates. Updates for Virtualbox/Guest Additions should help smooth out this process.

How to install Windows 10 Technical Preview on Oracle VirtualBoxįor me the install booted, started, and completed - but it ended in a black screen - I waited for idle disk indication (on Virtualbox and disk light on G750JH), and used the Virtualbox "reset" menu item, and the Windows 10 VM booted up fine. Here is a quick how to on setting up a Windows 10 VM if you haven't used Virtualbox before: Windows 10 Preview runs on Virtualbox 4.3.16, but the Guest Additions won't install, so Display Adapter driver is the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter - not the best performance. Kaltoreth, I find Virtualbox is a good way to test new OS's, and also keep multiple VM's on my G750JH for doing Linux development work. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up if you wanna install the Windows 10 Tech preview on your asus g750XX.
